Testing FAQs

Q: I have submitted my forms and payment to take my exam but have not received any information on where and when to take my test. When will I be notified?

A: Once a candidate has been pre-registered on the testing website, they will receive an email from EITHER:

ISO Quality Testing with a username and password from registrations@isoqualitytesting.com. This allows the candidate to log in and choose where and when they would like to take their test.  Please be sure to check your spam & junk email folders to make sure this email does not get deleted by mistake!!!

OR

Certemy with a subject line "IC&RC Examination Authorization". For Certemy instructions, click here.  Please be sure to check your spam and junk folders to make sure this email does not get deleted by mistake!!!

NOTEWhen registering for an exam through TCBAP online, you will NOT automatically receive an email with your testing information. This is because each pre-registration form has to be reviewed before your candidate information is uploaded to the testing website. This process can take up to 30 days depending on volume.  You will receive an email from Certemy or ISO Quality Testing when your candidate information has been uploaded to the testing website!

Q: I am trying to become an LCDC-I or LCDC. Where can I find information about these licenses?

A: The LCDC-I (Intern) and LCDC are licenses handled by The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). TCBAP only administers the LCDC exam.  Any information or questions regarding issuance of the LCDC-I or LCDC should be directed to DSHS at 1-800-832-9623 or by visiting www.dshs.state.tx.us/lcdc/

Q: I have taken my exam and am waiting on my score letter. How does this process work?

A: Official Score letters will be emailed to candidates within 2 weeks of the exam date. This email will come from SMTSupport@smttest.com. TCBAP sends LCDC exam scores to the state (DSHS) at the beginning of each month for candidates who have taken the exam the previous month.

Please be sure to check your spam and junk folders as this email may hit there!!!

Q: I have failed my test. What can I do to retake it?

A: Failure on any exam will result in a 90-day waiting period before you can re-take your exam. After 90 days, you may resubmit exam registration forms, fee, required documents and any applicable special accommodation forms to take the exam again.

NOTE:  Some exclusions apply for LCDC candidates if you have taken the exam unsuccessfully three (3) times (please contact DSHS in that instance).

Q: I have submitted my forms and fees to take an exam with TCBAP. Will my fees be refundable?

A: TCBAP does not offer refunds on exams. No exceptions.
