Testing FAQ


Q: I have submitted my forms and payment to take my exam but have not received any information on where and when to take my test. When will I be notified?

A: Once a candidate has been preregistered on the testing website, they will receive an email with a username and password. This allows the candidate to log in and choose where and when they would like to take their test. This email is NOT sent automatically.

NOTE: When registering for an exam through TCBAP online, you will NOT automatically receive an email with your testing information. This is because each preregistration form has to be reviewed before your candidate information is uploaded to the testing website. This process can take up to 2 weeks depending on volume. Testing emails are usually sent out at the end of the week.



Q: I am trying to become an LCDC-I or LCDC. Where can I find information about these licenses?

A: The LCDC-I (Intern) and LCDC are licenses handled by The Texas Department of State Health Services. While we administer the LCDC exam, that is the only part of the LCDC we handle. Q: I have taken my exam and am waiting on my score letter. How does this process work?

A: Official Score letters will be emailed to candidates within 2 weeks of the exam date. This email will come from We send LCDC exam scores to the state (DSHS) at the end of every month.

Q: I have failed my test. What can I do to retake it?

A: Failure on any exam will result in a 90 day waiting period before you can take your exam again. All fees are forfeited and you will have to start your registration over again after 90 days.


Q: I have submitted my forms and fees to take an exam with TCBAP. Will my fees be refundable?

A: TCBAP does not offer refunds on exams. No exceptions.
