Notice of 2012 changes to TCBAP Certifications:
TCBAP has made modifications to several of our certifications.  The certifications affected are listed below with details on the changes.

Advanced Addiction Counselor (AAC)
Beginning July 2012, TCBAP has renamed the Advanced Addiction Counselor (AAC) certificate to Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC) to comply with national standards. This is still an IC&RC reciprocal certification and holds the same designation as the AAC. This is simply a name change of the certification to meet national standards.

Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (ADC)
Beginning January 2012, TCBAP will be removing the leveling system of our Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (ADC) certification to bring our standards in-line with International IC&RC standards.  TCBAP will still offer the reciprocal ADC Certification, but the certification will no longer be offered at Levels I, II, & III.  Those who currently hold a leveled ADC Certification (ADC I, II, or III) may still renew those certifications at the current level.  New applicants seeking a higher level certification than the ADC may wish to pursue our Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC) certification.

Certified Supervisor Consultant (CSC)
Beginning in January 2012, TCBAP will no longer be issuing new Certified Supervisor Consultant (CSC) certification to new applicants.  The Certified Supervisor Consultant is a non-reciprocal certification for clinical supervisors.  TCBAP will continue to offer the IC&RC reciprocal Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) certification and those interested in obtaining a clinical supervision certification should purse that certification.  Those currently holding a CSC certification may continue to renew that certification.

Peer Recovery Support Credential (PRS)
TCBAP is now offering a new certification, the Peer Recovery Support Credential. The application and requirements for this new certification can be found in the list below and here.

NEW DESIGNATiONS !!

Associate Prevention Specialist (APS)
The Associate Prevention Specialist designation is intended for individuals pursuing competency in the field of substance abuse prevention or those with sustained employment in the field.  APS designation is available for current prevention staff who are interested in pursuing this designation including staff currently employed at a substance abuse prevention entity.

Peer Mentor/Peer Recovery Coach Designation (PM/PRC)
TCBAP is now offering a new designation, the Peer Mentor/Peer Recovery Coach Designation. The application and requirements for this new designation can be found in the list below and here.
